Pillar Income Asset Management and Transcontinental Realty Investors held their annual Valentine donation event in support of Family Gateway Inc. of Dallas, Texas. This year’s theme was “Shoe Some Love,” a play on previous year’s Show Some Love events. Employees were challenged with donating new tennis shoes for kids of all ages.
Pillar donated 42 pairs of shoes in response to the organization’s Wish List. “I love shoes, so this donation event was particularly fun for me,” said Chris Childress, Vice President of Human Resources and Manager of Pillar’s non-profit initiative. “Our HR Generalist, Sarah Rini, came up with the creative title and our employees really got into it. They donated shoes ranging from toddler to teenager; some even light up!” Childress continued, “In addition to 42 pairs of tennis shoes our CEO, Daniel Moos, donated $200 dollars for more shoes or any other items they may need.”
Kathy Kidwell, Family Gateway’s Director of Community Engagement, accepted Pillar’s donation. “We are beyond grateful for Pillar Income Asset Management and the shoes they donated. Providing stability and life-changing supportive services to children and families affected by homelessness would not be possible without community partners like Pillar Income.”
