According to Denim And Diamonds Honorary Co-Chairs Gowri and Alex Sharma,

“We are honored to be Denim And Diamonds honorary co-chairs at Gilley’s Dallas, on Friday, November 8, benefiting Family Gateway, a nonprofit serving families experiencing homelessness in North Texas.  The celebration will feature food, drinks and live entertainment from the David Whiteman Band, known for their crowd-pleasing, high-energy performances.

“We are especially pleased that the event’s importance has been embraced by Presenting Sponsor, Valiant Residential, an award-winning multifamily property management firm dedicated to managing thriving apartment communities and enhancing the living experience for its residents across Texas and six other states.

“Valiant Residential President/CEO Craig Lashley joins us in supporting and promoting such an important cause. Craig believes, as we do, that the meaningful work Family Gateway truly uplifts families in the North Texas community we proudly call home.

“We’re honored to help spotlight the critical work Family Gateway does every day for families in crisis. At a time when demand for services is rising and federal support is shrinking, it’s more important than ever for our community to come together.

“As the primary point of entry (access point) for families with children experiencing or near homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties, Family Gateway uses a two-generation approach to help families regain stability and self-sufficiency.

“The agency operates the only emergency shelter in our community that serve all types of families with children. The mission of Family Gateway is to provide stability and life-changing supportive services to children and families affected by homelessness

“In addition to raising essential funds, the evening will recognize Jack Matthews with the Annette G. Strauss Community Service Award for his work expanding access to affordable housing in North Texas. Matthews partnered with Family Gateway to develop a 336-unit affordable housing project in Hutchins, Texas, and has been instrumental in creating more than 650 units across the region in collaboration with multiple nonprofit partners.

“Jack’s commitment to community isn’t just impressive—it’s transformative. His partnerships with local nonprofits, including Family Gateway, are creating real, long-term solutions for families who need stability.  Our hope is that you will be inspired by Jack’s example of leadership and Family Gateway’s mission.  For sponsorships or ticket information, visit www.familygateway.org/denim-diamonds-2.”
