Fall is just six months away and as folks have their bags packed for summer getaways, those with long-term planning in mind are looking to the third and fourth quarters of 2025.
Already Family Gateway has its sights set on Saturday, November 8, at Gilley’s Dallas for the Denim and Diamonds fundraiser with Alex and Gowri Sharma serving as honorary co-chairs.
In addition to the grazing around and the sounds provided by the David Whiteman Band, the highlight of the night will be presentation of the Annette G. Strauss Community Service Award to Jack Matthews for “his collaboration with Family Gateway on a 336-unit affordable housing development in Hutchins,” as well as his being a “driving force in expanding affordable housing across Dallas and the DFW metroplex, partnering with non-profit agencies to create sustainable solutions for families in need. ”
According to Family Gateway President/CEO Ellen Magnis, “Jack has made these partnerships with non-profits in the area without pomp and circumstance — he’s doing it because it’s the right thing to do, not because he wants people to know he’s doing it. His work to partner with us has provided a passive income stream which has proved invaluable to our services. We are so honored to have Jack as a partner in improving the lives of children and families experiencing homelessness in our community.”
